NEW Rose Cousins RECORD! – Canadian singer-songwriter Rose Cousins embarks on a new recording project in 2016.

JUST KICK ME (or to some of you…. kick me again!)

1. I’m making a NEW RECORD in EARLY 2016 in LOS ANGELES, California & I WANT YOU TO BE A PART OF IT!

This last year I traveled to Nashville, Los Angeles and Ireland specifically to give time and attention to writing, something that is hard to make time for as a touring artist. I have been writing with other artists and producers in several genres and it is a great exercise and opportunity for growth. My hope is that this new record will be a synthesis of the array of music I love to listen to and write. 

2. I’ve asked a magical producer/songwriter to lead this project. 
His name is JOE HENRY… an incredible spirit.

We met at the Edmonton Folk Festival in Alberta, Canada in 2012. Since then we have visited over coffee and rich conversation about songs, guitars and life. I’m honoured by his friendship and delighted he will be guiding this next record. 

Joe has produced and written songs for an eclectic array of artists including Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Aimee Mann, Bruce Cockburn, Elvis Costello, Madonna & the late Allen Toussaint. Joe has a beautiful repertoire of his own songs on his own records and I am a true fan of his poetic, visceral writing.

WHERE WILL YOUR MONEY GO? HERE’S WHERE: I’ve set the goal at $55,000 to cover just the costs of recording the album. I’m hoping we’ll reach and even SURPASS the set goal! (crossing all appendages)

$40,000 – Recording the album (studio, engineer, musicians, producer)
$6,000 – Editing and finishing touches (mixing, mastering)
$6,000 – Travel/Accommodations (for me and musicians from other places)
$3,500 – Documenting it all (video footage, photography) 

IF WE SURPASS THE GOAL, the money will go to these OTHER COSTLY THINGS involved with making and promoting a record:
