THE SANCTUARY PROJECT IS BACK!

Hi there. My name is Caroline Schiff and I am a fashion-lifestyle photographer living in San Francisco, CA.

Two years ago I came to you on Kickstarter to fund the Sanctuary Stories photo project – my personal stance against the factory farming of animals.

{See the original Kickstarter project here.}

With your help, we created stunning portraits of the animals that were lucky enough to be rescued, and can now live out their lives at the sanctuaries that house them.

The Sanctuary Stories project seeks to recreate the experience of a visit to a farm animal sanctuary by telling the stories of the animals that were rescued from this system. The portraits show them as unique, living beings and not as some product you buy at the local supermarket.

Thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2013, the photography is complete, and Sanctuary Stories website is up.

BUT THERE IS A NEW CHAPTER, AND THERE ARE NEW NEEDS FOR THE PROJECT.

I recently had to remind myself that the ultimate goal of this project was to END factory farming.

The first step was creating the content, now if is time for the next step; to get the project SEENby people who can make a difference. While I am proud to share the images with fellow photographers and animal lovers, to be effective we need to show them to people ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY who can give them a bigger voice.

The images need to be used by activists, advocacy groups and lobbyists for change as content of all kinds of media. They need to be seen by policy makers whose votes can be swayed by the call of their conscience.

As a start I have already purchased 1,500 printed pieces to send out by mail to these groups. To compliment that broad stroke of exposure will be one of very high quality: A GALLERY SHOW of the images as fine art prints.

Some will also go to the desks of gallery curators who we hope will see the value of the work, and expose it to a broad audience.

I AM ASKING FOR YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS WORK VISIBLE.

The two major expenses are postage for the mailers and the cost of printing and mounting the gallery prints. We want to show the ten best of these amazing photos.

So we are asking you to help us raise $3,520 to bring this to reality.

PLEASE HELP US SEND THIS INCREDIBLE PROJECT OUT INTO THE WORLD.

Join the 65 Kickstarter benefactors that helped launch it, surpassing our financial goals.

Thank you.
